Kindle integration with amazon echo: Kindle reads back to you

Amazon Echo    Back in 2014, amazon release its newest portable gadget online, the Amazon Echo. It’s just like a smart personal assistant. At that time, it is not available yet to everyone and amazon only sell echo to their prime member. Back then, amazon also announced they can’t support yet streaming audiobooks, so kindle readers disappointed to know they can’t hear audiobooks with echo. She is somewhat limited in her capabilities.

The Amazon Echo is a voice-powered personal assistant that was built on the Alexa platform. Alexa is the voice behind Echo, Amazon’s voice-activated, cloud-connected wireless speaker, who talks back to user and acts as if you’re talking to human being. It allows you to know the information such as weather, news; as well as music, audio books. users also can perform specific action such as automated home interactions, social networking and online transaction that can be use to amazon store.

Until amazon makes public for the support of Audible. Echo support for Text To Speech (TTS) would be as valuable as Audible support. Just recently, amazon finally added (the most awaited features specialize for kindle) the integration to audible kindle.

For some, Echo isn’t a perfect speaker or a perfect voice assistant, but I was surprised to find out how much I enjoyed using it. And because of Amazon’s continual updates,  amazon echo has even more functional now than when it was first released.

Streaming audio over Bluetooth from a Kindle Fire HDX or Android tablet works really well. This is somewhat using a Bluetooth speaker but better, as the sound system in the Echo is better than those little speakers. Moreover, the amazon echo is always sitting there ready to go.

You can listen to audiobooks from Audible or Kindle Unlimited on your Alexa device.
Alexa, play the book "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?"
Alexa, play the audiobook "Yes, Please."
Alexa, play "Bossypants" from Audible.
Alexa, read “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
Alexa, pause.
Alexa, resume my book.
Alexa, go forward / back.
Alexa, set a sleep timer for 30 minutes.
Alexa, stop reading the book in 30 minutes.
Alexa, cancel sleep timer.

Everyone that has amazon echo can stream seamlessly with integrated echo for kindle. Everybody can now listen with audiobooks through echo, which is cool features especially for kindle lovers. With echo, you can simply read books back to you by simply saying; Alexa read (Audible book title of yours); and you can pick it up right where you left off by saying “Alexa, read my book.”, you can even control playback by telling “Alexa, go back or forward.”

After using amazon echo through audible kindle, I know from my experience that Amazon Echo is something you don’t know you want until you have it, and something you don’t miss until it’s gone. Which is true, when you consider using primarily its newest features – the integration with amazon kindle.

In my opinion, there’s a ton of updates and features will come in the future. This is just some features that amazon gives to us primarily for kindle users. I’m pretty sure, sooner or later amazon will try some features exclusively for kindle that some users can’t even think of. I wouldn’t be surprised if, a year from now, you’re relying on the Echo for so many different things you forget that it can also play music and some other useful things you can possibly do.

Amazon Echo is a device that keeps growing and evolving overtime. I’m so excited to try out another cool and more functions and features in the future.
